We’re living in a simulation

Limited conditions (for eg. memory) in a simulation ends up as same stuff everywhere and/or same patterns happening again and again

TLDR: We’re definitely living in a simulation

Let’s forget about the “life” we’re living and think about a simulation that is human made.

Have you ever realized while playing Grand Theft Auto, because of the limited physical memory, the game spawns same cars again and again with different colors? Did you know that it’s because of the entertainment system’s limited physical memory?

This happens because it’s easier and more possible to load just one car model instead of plenty of car models. You get better framerate and more playability this way. If your simulation system had more memory it could have loaded a more diverse selection of cars at the same time. But still to an extent. You can use the best hardware out there. You are still limited with the model files supplied in the game(simulation) and a constant computing power limit in that given point of time.

The missions you have in GTA: They are limited. You finish all the singleplayer scenario gameplay and after that you’re done. There are missions that looks interactable. But same things, same patterns of incidents happens again and again. They may change in form but the content is the same.

That’s the dead end you can’t escape. As a character of the game, you’re trapped in a limited scenario, in a limited physical world, with limited perception and limited movement. Whatever you do, it’s limited. Whatever results you get, they are limited. The question is: Could you understand that you were in a simulation?

Could you detect the odd situation that the same cars are being spawned around? Or would you know about RAM, computing power and other stuff that are placed in an outer, bigger scope of your current world? Would you feel that you’re just a bunch of computer code? That you’re just another array of 0’s and 1’s? When an incident happens, would you say this is just an edited version of the others? Minor edits, came out from the same production mechanism, with different attributes?

Whenever this is being questioned, people suggest watching the movie: The Matrix again.

As someone who is allergic to concept being “limited” why not watch “The Thirteenth Floor”?

Movie: The Thirteenth Floor (1999)

Why not watch the Black Mirror episode “San Junipero”?

Black Mirror S03E04: “San Junipero” (2016)

Your reality is your perception. But is there a “reality”?
